Your first job will be to turn off the base motor. After that the remaining material in the gun has to be sent back to the canister by pressing the spray trigger. Once the remaining material is in the canister, unscrew it and throw it out.

Now that your canister is empty you can clean it with a proper cleaning solution. Choose your cleaning solution according to the material you were using to paint the pictures. If your material was latex based you can use warm soap water. For oil based material using mineral spirits is a good idea. After cleaning the canister, put some extra cleaning solution inside the canister and hook it back in its place. Then the base has to be set on the ground and the hose has to be stretched all the way out. Turn on the motor and spray the trigger so that all the cleaning solution inside the canister comes out.
